DUETT in fairytale castle
In 2018, new life was breathed into Schadau Castle on the edge of Lake Thun thanks to extensive renovation work. The castle built in the 19th century by the Neuenburg banking family de Rougemont as a summer residence was converted into a modern hotel with a restaurant and seminar venue. The town of Thun, the owner of the castle and client for the renovation work, and Suter + Partner architects commissioned by it, not only had to comply with every conceivable specification relating to the preservation of historic buildings but also, when selecting the interior, had to ensure carefully that it was all in keeping with the stylish Romantic period.
The architects selected the slim, discreet DUETT traversing system to hang the textile window decorations on the 25 windows in the nine hotel rooms and seminar areas. The curtain fittings made of solid brass live up to the high demands of the selected materials and their premium matt finish blends harmoniously with the other style elements of the interior design.
